The 37-year-old, who resigned from international football years ago following a brief stint with Gor Mahia of the Kenyan Premier League, hopes to use the new effort to teach young talent.

“Coming from a humble background, love for my community and Kenya at large has always been immense, and now its time to give back to the community; its time to do more and touch the lives of many Kenyan youths who would love to be like me and even achieve more than I did in all sporting activities” noted Oliech.

Oliech was born in Dagoretti, where he began his career at Dagoretti Santos and then at Mathare United. He moved to Qatar, France, and Dubai for his international professional football career.

Before retiring from active soccer in 2016, he made 76 appearances for Kenya and became the country's all-time goal scorer with 34 goals.

The foundation which Victor Wanyama and Johanna Omollo are already running is available to anyone with a passion for football, regardless of age.

As part of Oliech's peace ambassador project, the foundation conducts frequent trips around 47 counties. The foundation seeks to use sports as a unifying force by finding and cultivating talent through peace ambassador tours.
