Facebook Bans All Taliban`s Contents

The application claims to have a specialized team of Afghan professionals monitoring and removing content associated with the organization.

The Taliban is thought to have been using Facebook for decades to propagate its various messages, and now the Taliban's quick conquest of Afghanistan poses new issues for the social media platform.

"Under US law, the Taliban is designated as a terrorist organization, and we have prohibited them from using our services under our Dangerous Organization policy. This means we deactivate accounts run by or on behalf of the Taliban, as well as banning praise, support, and representation of the group "According to a Facebook spokesperson.

"We also have a specialized staff of Afghanistan experts, who are native Dari and Pashto speakers and have an understanding of the local context, assisting us in identifying and alerting us to emerging difficulties on the platform," he continued.

The social media behemoth stated that it does not make choices on national government recognition, but rather defers to the "authority of the international community."

The ban applies to all of Facebook's services, including its flagship social media network, Instagram, and WhatsApp, according to the company.

However, there are indications that the Taliban is communicating using WhatsApp.
