The win propelled the Bankers an inch closer to the leaders Tusker FC who have 38 points, making them one point shy.

Goals from David Simiyu, defender Harun Thomas and Derrick Otanga ensured that KCB registered a second win since the resumption of the league. They now have 37 points after 18 matches just as their rivals Tusker FC.

Simiyu and Thomas scored their goals in the first half while Otanga got his just five minutes before the game ended.

KCB dominated the better part of the first half but the dockers were only lucky to have conceded two goals when the match went to a break. Simiyu found the back of the net from a close range when he received a cross from Reagan Otieno surprising defender Brian Otieno who thought that the goal keeper would rise to the occasion.

Thomas scored the second goal for the hosts from inside the box after David Owino’s free kick wasn’t well cleared.

With five minutes remaining, KCB’s move yielded results after Mike Oduor rectified Curtis Wekesa’s mistake for failing to find the back of the empty net after Bandari’s keeper Justin Ndikumana left the goal, by making a run on the right and sliced a cross for his counterpart Otanga to score.

The defeat for Bandari leaves them at position six with 28 points.

The hosts answered with a penalty strike by Hillary Wandera when Lennox Ogutu handled the ball in the 18th box yard.

In the 31st minute, Hillary Simiyu’s goal was ruled out after he scored from an offside position. Finally he got his goal two minutes after the break and the hosts took a 2-1 lead. They did not enjoy it because John Mwangi levelled the score in the 64th minute through a superb header.
