Govt Raids Apartments of Illegal Pakistans in Kenya {VIDEO}

Government of Kenyan in Connection with Police and Immigration officials raided apartments at Waiyaki Real Gardens where illegal Pakistan Nationals are believed to had been harbored.

The officials were verifying their documents to find out if they were in the country legally.

This comes at a time the government on Wednesday 29th September suspended an agreement that allowed visa-free entry for passengers traveling into the country from Pakistan following a heated war that erupted between the Taliban and Afghanistan’s early last month.

However, the crackdown was ordered by Interior Principal Secretary, Karanja Kibicho.

PS Kibicho had previously addressed the issue of foreigners in Kenya after Kenyans demanded answers in response to recordings showing city buses transporting large numbers of immigrants to various city estates.

The bulk of the tourists were from Pakistan and had legitimate transit visas to Saudi Arabia that were provided on arrival, according to the Interior PS.

He stated that Kenya had seen an increase in the number of Asian people transiting in the last four months.

According to the Secretary of the Interior, the government will be stringent in the future and limit the number of foreigners traveling through the country.

"Subsequently, the government has ordered an immediate crackdown of foreigners who are in the country without proper documentation. The exercise will be undertaken by the Department of Immigration and the National Police Service," the statement read in part.

"Going forward, the government will restrict the number of foreigners transiting through the country to levels that do not pose a risk to Kenya's national interests."
