Laikipia University Female Student Stubbed to Death by Roommate’s ‘Lover’
After a female first-year student was fatally stabbed at Laikipia University, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have launched an investigation.

On Wednesday, Gertrude Chepkoech was stabbed multiple times by a man who is suspected of being her roommate's boyfriend.
After a lynch mob swarmed the crime site, Ezra the suspect allegedly turned the knife on himself in an attempt to end his own life.
He was rescued by police and taken to Nyahururu County Referral Hospital for treatment where his condition is now stable.
The screams from the girl's room, according to Lucy Nakiridi, a maid at the private hostel where the dead resided, alarmed them.
When they arrived on the site, they discovered the girl's lifeless corpse with serious cuts.
The fatal incident comes barely months after the suspect from Nakuru had been prevented from entering the premises, according to the witness, after his girlfriends accused him of reportedly pushing himself into their room.
However, while the police continue their investigation, the deceased's body was taken to the Nyahururu County referral hospital mortuary.
