MBAPPE IS GOING NOWHERE!!!, SAYS PSG SPORTING DIRECTOR, LEONARDO.
Paris-Saint Germain sporting director maintains that Kylian Mbappe will stay at the club at the end of the season.
Speaking to the Canal Plus, Leonardo expressed the club’s intention to keep the Frenchman as he is one of the protagonists of their project alongside Messi and Neymar. He also highlighted the deep relationship between Mbappe and the Paris-based club. ‘’I don’t see Kylian leaving at the end of this season, Mbappe’s relationship with PSG is deep’’. ‘’I don’t think anyone here sees the future without him’’.
Leonardo was also quick to call out the Los Bloncos for their approach of Mbappe claiming that they were not happy with Real Madrid’s behavior.
There were speculations that the world cup winner had halted his contract extension to force a move to Real Madrid but the deal fell apart. The Spanish giants presented a bid worth 137m but the offer was rejected in the just concluded transfer window. Leonardo added,’’ We were very clear about the offer they made, it was enough from our point of view.’’
‘’The fact that he is staying, that was the only thing that could happen. We never thought about doing all this without Kylian.’’
The golden boy award winner joined the Paris-based side in 2017 from Monaco at a fee of 166m, becoming the second most expensive player. He has since then won, three league titles and three French cups with PSG. Mbappe is enjoying a fine form this season having already netted four goals in the first five opening league matches.
