The former Prime Minister arrived at the hotel on Monday at 10:00 am, accompanied by governors Lee Kinyanjui (Nakuru), Charity Ngilu (Kitui), Wycliffe Oparanya (Kakamega), and Martin Wambora (Embu) among others.

The Naivasha meeting comes two days after Raila launched his presidential campaign in Thika on Saturday where he was endorsed by a section of Kiambu elected leaders.

Led by Governor James Nyoro, the leaders said Raila has a history of agitating for the welfare of all and has a heart of service.

"We have accepted to walk the journey with Raila as he has the answers to our economic wellbeing. Mount Kenya region has united and it's now clear that Raila is the 5th President," Nyoro said.

His sentiments were echoed by Kiambu town MP Jude Njomo who stated that unlike the past, Mt. Kenya residents are more enlightened and will put all their votes in Raila's basket.

"The time of fighting Odinga is gone. The past is gone and the future is here. We have all resolved to support Raila as he has the answers to many of our economic challenges," Njomo said.
