President-Elect Ruto Meets A delegation of the Africa Judges in Karen

Kenya`s President-Elect William Ruto met  A delegation of the Africa Judges and Jurists (AJJF) led by the former Chief Justice of Tanzania Justice Mohamed Chande Othman at his Karen Office, in Nairobi on Thursday 1st September.

The aim of the meeting was to oversee presidential petitions that are currently ongoing at the Supreme Court of Kenya.

In a post seen by this publication, Ruto posted a variety of pictures on his Twitter account with the delegates.

"Met a delegation of the Africa Judges and Jurists (AJJF) led by the former Chief Justice of Tanzania Justice Mohamed Chande Othman at the Karen Office, Nairobi".

"Others in the Mission were Lillian Tibatemwa-Ekirikubinza (Supreme Court, Uganda), Justice Ivy Kamanga (Supreme Court of Appeal, Malawi), Justice Moses Chinhengo (Court of Appeal, Lesotho), and Justice Henry Bossie Mbha (President, Electoral Court of South Africa)". He added.

Ruto also added that the aim of the meeting was to entrench Kenya's democracy and have a well-functioning judiciary that will safeguard the public interest.

"To entrench our democracy, our priority as an administration is to have a well-functioning, efficient and independent judiciary that will safeguard the public interest and protect our Constitution".He concluded.
