Speaking to reporters on Thursday, September 1, in front of his Milimani, Kakamega home, Malala's legal team said that they were unaware of the court orders. A team member further stated that they were speaking with the police to get more information about his impending arrest.

"I have not seen any arrest warrant. What we are sure of is that this witchhunt arises from the elections that have just been carried out which we feel is a bit unfair," Malala stated.

"We seem to be the only ones who have been targeted.  But we are still sorting this out as a legal team and we may not say anything that may go on record at this time," the representative addressed the media.

A politician named Joseph Oyolo was allegedly assaulted by the former senator during the Kakamega gubernatorial race, according to police sources.

Six vehicles carrying the officers showed up.

They discovered the gate to be locked and opened it by chopping the padlocks off.

At the moment, Malala is locked within the home. But those assertions were refuted by residents of the home who spoke to the media via the windows.

A senior police officer declined to give details but said, "police officers cannot just come to your place when there's nothing".
