President Uhuru Kenyatta has urged politicians to practice tolerance with each other during the campaign period ahead of the August polls.

Speaking during a church service at the AIC pipeline Church in Nairobi on Sunday, the president has urged Kenyans to exercise political tolerance with each other during the electioneering period.

Kenya hii hakuna mmoja wetu ataihama, we are here to stay, it's our responsibility to protect it & live with each other in peace,” Kenyatta said.  

The Head of State has also asked Kenyans not to create enmity on basis of ethnicity and political affiliations saying that elections come and go but everyone remains to be a citizen in the country.

Hakuna mtu mwenye alituma application azaliwe kabila hii, elections come and go and we have had elections after every five years, hata hii itapita,” Uhuru noted.

The president also took the opportunity to condemn the recent instances of violence meted against political leaders with the recent incidences against the Azimio flagbearer Raila Odinga by rowdy youths who stormed his chopper and motorcade.

According to police reports 17 people have been arrested in conjuction with the friday attack on Raila. 

 After the Sunday service where the president also opened the AIC Pipeline Church Education Complex, the President addressed pipeline residents where he urged boda-boda riders to be respect their customers and work towards ensuring their safety.

President Kenyatta also said that his government will continue to support the boda-boda sector.
