DP Gachagua expressed relief on social media over the policemen' good progress toward recovery and impending release.

Am happy they have made substantial progress and the doctors assured me of their discharge in the next few days. We celebrate our police officers for their patriotism & commitment," he wrote on Twitter.

Information on the location of the accident and the number of PEU officers who were injured was however not disclosed.
