Sonko's Message to Sakaja Following the Death of a Pregnant Lady At Mama Lucy Hospital

Following the death of a 28-year-old pregnant woman who bled furiously after giving birth to twins at Mama Lucy Kibaki's hospital as a result of alleged negligence by hospital workers, former Nairobi governor Mika Sonko has urged Nairobi's governor, Johnson Sakaja, to take immediate action on the case.

Taking to his Twitter account, Mike Sonko shared the sad story of the late, Maureen Anyango stating that such instances occurring in the hospitals had been done away with in the past.

Mike Sonko has now called upon Sakaja to take action in order to avoid such instances recurring in the hospitals.

"H.E Johnson Sakaja deal with these crooks!" Sonko stated.

According to sources privy to this publication, on September 7, Maureen began bleeding at 9 a.m. on September 7 after giving birth to two healthy babies. However, the hospital workers' response to the emergency appeared sluggish, necessitating the intervention of her family members, who later decided to transfer her to Kiambu Level 5 hospital to save her life, but she died at around 8 p.m.

Maureen's sister Rose Otieno asserted that her water broke on Monday at around 7 pm.

"When we got to the hospital, medics expressed concern that her pressure was high, but they agreed to admit and stabilize her," Maureen's sister stated.

Members of the Embakasi East family claim that their relative died as a result of excessive bleeding, which they believe should not have occurred. Lynn Kish Braidist, one of the companions who drove Maureen to the hospital, accused Mama Lucy Hospital of failing to act quickly enough to stop the young woman's bleeding.
