Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Noordin Haji has directed the Inspector General (IG) of Police, Hillary Mutyambai to interdict 2 senior officers over the death of the two Kianjokoma brothers.

The Inspector of police was ordered to suspend Embu North OCPD Emily Ngaruya, and the former Manyatta OCS Abdullahi Yaya, on Wednesday, August 18.

The two are to be questioned regarding the murder of Benson Njiru Ndwiga and Emmanuel Mutura, from Kianjokoma in Embu who died at the hands of police.

The two officers will add up to six officers who are implicated in the murders that have caused uproar across the nation.

DPP Haji directed IG Hillary Mutyambai to arrest the six police officers in connection with the murder of the two brothers, on Monday, August 16, following the conclusion of the investigations done by the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA).

DPP Haji had issued the directive in order to prevent the officers from interfering with investigations being carried out by the IPOA.

The six cops charged with involvement in the murders are Corporal Consolota Njeri, Corporal Benson Mbuthia, Constable Lilian Cherono, Constable Martin Wanyama, Constable Nicholas Sang, and Constable James Mwaniki who was the driver.
