BREAKING: Mike Sonko to Run for Mombasa Gubernatorial Seat on a Wiper Ticket
Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has announced that he will be vying for the Mombasa gubernatorial seat in the forthcoming August 9 General Election a Wiper Ticket Party.

The flamboyant politician will be contesting the seat on a Wiper party ticket which is under the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition.
While speaking to a local station, Sonko said he is a national leader, so he can vie anywhere in the country.
"It's true, I am going for Mombasa county gubernatorial seat on Wiper party under Azimio, I am a national leader and Mombasa is still my hometown," said Sonko.
The impeached city boss is seemingly staging a comeback into the active political scene after a lengthy break occasioned by his unceremonial ouster from Nairobi's top seat.
According to information by the Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji he indicated that they will not pursue cases of graft against Sonko until after the elections.
