PremiershipPostecoglou will be replacing Neil Lennon who resigned in February after the club failed in a bid to win a record 10th consecutive Scottish Premiership match.

The former Australia national manager joins Celtic from Yokohama F Marinos in Japan.

Postecoglou appreciated the opportunity saying that has been given one of the greatest honors in football.

Celtic approached Postecoglou after Eddie Howe turned down the opportunity to move to Glasgow, with the club citing "reasons outwith both his and our control".

Postecoglou led the Australian national team at the World Cup and qualified for Russia 2018 but left in late 2017, moving to Japan, where he won the J-League with Yokohama in 2019.

Postecoglou will be forced to quarantine on arrival from Japan, while his opening game with Celtic will be a Champions League second qualifying round tie in July.
