Charlton Murithi, Director of the KNFP is Dead

According to reports, the director of Kenya National Focal Point (KNFP), Charlton Murithi passed away at 3a.m on August 19 as he was receiving treatment at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) in Nairobi.

According to sources privy to this publication, Murithi was undergoing cancer treatment. One of his family members also confirmed his death. Murithi has been battling cancer complications and was taken to South Africa for further treatment three months ago.

He was airlifted back to Kenya and admitted to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), where he continued to receive treatment until his death.

The body was moved to a local mortuary after police visited the facility.

Murithi was the Director of the Kenya National Focal Point (KNFP) on Small Arms and Light Weapons until his death. The unit was established to control and coordinate countywide arms control initiatives and actions.

The deceased previously worked with various departments and served as the director of the Internal Affairs Unit (AIU), commandant of traffic operations, and Provincial Police Officer in North Eastern, among other directorates of the police.

In 2015, he was tasked with investigating TV evangelist James Ng'ang'a in connection with the death of a woman in a road accident in Limuru.
