The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has arrested four suspects of abductions on Thika Road.

"Four suspects have been arrested this afternoon in Kahawa Wendani, following a spate of abductions reported in the last one week, targeting travellers along the Thika Superhighway,” read part of the tweet by DCI.

According to the DCI, the four suspects were arrested following several abduction cases along Thika Road, that mostly targets travellers along the busy highway.

Further, the DCI disclosed that the arrest took place after an operation by Ruiru based Crime buster who caught the suspects as they were trying to lure yet another victim.

The Crime busters discovered a sharp knife, metal rods and other crude weapons in the suspects' car.

In the recent past, cases of abduction had been reported in the busy highway that targeted passengers who were headed to different destinations along the highway. It is reported that the thugs would rob the victims and then dumb them in Kabati, Muranga County.

 “Their arrest followed the recent abduction of three victims along the busy Superhighway, who were robbed of cash and other valuables before being dumped in Kabati, Murang’a county.” Said the DCI

The most recent event was of a lady who was picked in Ruiru on Sunday, then she was robbed of her phone and money. Upon the arrest of the suspects, the victims positively identified them.
