She is expected to lead until the end of the term which is set to end in March 2022.

This comes after a High Court ruling nullifying CEO Mercy Wambua's and other council members' suspensions and requiring the society to call a meeting within 21 days, failing which a caucus will take control.

“If council remains dysfunctional and not able to conduct business, the Chairs Caucus shall take over the functions of the council with the Chair of the Branch exercising powers of the president of LSK for the remainder of the term ” Justice Mrima ordered.

However, Havi`s earlier decisions to quit the society firm come at a time he had expressed his interest in vying for the Westlands Member of Parliament position in the upcoming August General election on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket that is connected to Deputy President William Ruto.

He also claimed that on Thursday, January 13, he will publish an official statement confirming his decision to leave the firm.

The new leadership was constituted after Havi failed to call a meeting as instructed by the judge before the deadline of January 10th.
