Gatundu North Member of Parliament  Elect Elijah  Njoroge Karuria threatened to Ditch President Elect`s United Democratic Alliance Party for Raila Odinga`s Azimio la Umoja party should the Supreme Court of Kenya rules Against William Ruto.

According to Karuria he claims that the only reason he supports Ruto is because of the President-elect certificate, but should the Supreme Court overturn the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission's (IEBC) judgment, he will support Raila Odinga's Azimio la Umoja alliance instead.

"I'm waiting to see who between Azimio or Kenya Kwanza has the best deal I jump there. For now, I support Ruto because he has the certificate of being elected but should it be withdrawn, I will move to Azimio because my Gatundu North Constituents must remain in government," he said.

Kururia praised voters for electing him as MP and advised them to wait for the Supreme Court's ruling while speaking to mourners during a burial in Gatundu South.

Kururia, an independent MP, was quick to go to Ruto's Karen office and express his support for him when IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati announced Ruto as the winner.

His most recent camp-shifting announcement, however, caused neighbors to utter gibberish about his contradictory remarks, and many now refer to him as a man without a standing.

On August 15th,  William Samoe Ruto was declared the fifth president of Kenya alongside his running mate Rigathi Gachagua.

IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati handed over the Certificate to President-Elect William Ruto at Bomas of Kenya On August 15th, 2022.

Ruto was declared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries commiion{IEBC } Chair Wafula Chebukati gaining, 50.5% 6,406,388 Votes versus Raila Odinga of  AZIMIO with 48.8% 6,025,940 Votes. This was 12,517,145 votes tallied From 253 of 291 constituencies.

However the move was later challenged by Azimio la Umoja Presidential candidate Raila Odinga in Court, Odinga described the results as "fraudulent".
