Ali Mwatsahu who is an activist and a politician is said to have survived an assassination attempt after unknown people shot his car 22 times on Tuesday evening.

Mwatsahu was driving home from Tarawih (night Ramadan prayers) in Tudor, Mombasa County, when he was attacked by two gunmen in separate vehicles who opened fire 22 times on the right side of his vehicle.

According to eyewitness accounts, Mwatsahu was shot in the arms and legs and transported to the hospital by a tuk-tuk driver for treatment.

Ali's car that survived the 22-Gun-shots 

Mwatsahu is a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) politician, vying for the Mvita parliamentary seat in the upcoming August 9 General Elections.

Detectives assigned to the case described how they went to the crime scene, processed it, and gathered evidence to help with the investigation.

Before the automobile was hauled, they took pictures of the incident. Before producing a final report, the police are anticipated to produce a preliminary report.
