Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) is set to open 12 new hospitals as they continue their mission of accessibility to affordable healthcare in informal settlements in Nairobi.

These part of the 24 hospitals under the Major General Mohamed Badi-led administration in the slums with full equipments just waiting for President Uhuru Kenyatta's go-ahead.

“A total of 12 of the new hospitals are ready for commissioning. We are hoping in the next two weeks His Excellency the President will give us guidance on opening them,” said Mr Badi.

Speaking before the Senate Health Committee on Covid-19 funds management, he confirmed that four of the level 2 hospitals were already unveiled in February and the remaining eight hospitals are also at an advanced stage of construction and will be complete by the first week of July.
