Sabina Chege Roasted Over Rigged 2017 Votes Remarks
Sabina Chege, a Murang'a women's representative, has gotten herself into controversy after implying that the 2017 elections were manipulated.
Sabina made the controversial remarks on Thursday 10th of February suggesting that there was vote-rigging in the 2017 General Election where President Uhuru Kenyatta was declared as the victor.
Sabina Chege, speaking in Vihiga County on Thursday during a campaign tour by Azimio La Umoja-allied officials, claimed there was some validity to charges that votes were stolen in the previous election and that the same could happen again this year.
"Mnajua kule Central nimeskia wengine wakisema tuliwaibia. Kuna ka ukweli kidogo. Lakini kama tulijua kuiba... si hata hii tutafanya ninii... Kwani wanafikiria wao ndio wajanja? she posed.
Her comments have sparked a political firestorm, with leaders from Deputy President William Ruto's UDA party coming out swinging to condemn the Murang'a Woman Representative.
Various leaders who accompanied the deputy president to the UDA's campaign rally in Kuresoi, Nakuru County, on Friday accused their rivals in the Azimio la Umoja movement of planning to rig the upcoming August elections.
Even as he voiced confidence that he would win the polls, DP Ruto dismissed Sabina Chege's words. Simultaneously, the DP issued a warning against any attempt to rig the upcoming elections.

I EXPECT DPP Haji @ODPP_KE will write a letter to the @IG_NPS and order him to investigate Hon Sabina Chege's statement that JUBILEE Government will rig the August election in favour of Hon Raila...Mr. Haji please do the needful, soonest!

There's something particularly refreshing about Azimio Campaigns. To see Sabina Chege, Kanini Kega, Peter Kenneth and other Kikuyu luminaries aggressively campaigning for Baba is a pleasant end to the bitter Luo-Kikuyu political rivalry.
