With the current Covid-19 situation worsening on each new day, hospitals are also flooding and unable to accommodate more patients.

Speaking over the Machakos County bed capacity issue, Dr. Alfred Mutua has warned that any additional critical cases may not be attended to since all beds are now occupied.

"...People are waiting for others to die to get a bed...," read part of Dr. Mutua's statement. The governor further urged all to observe the set regulations and ensure they are safe.

Mutua's statement follows shortly after the Kenya Medical Pharmacists and Dentist Union (KMPDU) warned that the nation had run out of space to accommodate more patients in intensive centres.

Covid-19 has reportedly continued infecting more Kenyans, despite the availability of the vaccine which was thought of as a relief in the fight against the outbreak.

Of late cases have continued rising high, threatening to erode efforts being applied to combat the pandemic. Deaths have also reportedly sharply risen, raising fears among the entire nation.
