Analysts believe that Kenyatta created the positions seeking to accommodate those who enabled him to win his second term as the president in 2017.

The High court on Tuesday invalidated Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) positions held by several people in President Kenyatta's administration.

According to Justice Antony Mrima, the president disregarded the Constitution when he initiated the position in 2018.

The president founded the CAS positions in 2018, according to what analysts termed as a reward to those who assisted him to clinch power in the 2017 elections.
