According to a police report filed Thursday at the Buruburu Police Station, where he was stationed, Constable Harrison Mugo died at the police canteen at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 7.

“The body had no visible physical injuries and no suicide note was found,” police said, adding that the deceased’s body was moved to Mama Lucy Hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy.

Mr. Mugo was the one whose video went viral on Wednesday 6th July after he was videotaped acting drunk and disorderly on the streets while wearing a police uniform.

The National Police Service (NPS) condemned the constable's behavior as deplorable, disrespectful, and unprofessional.

“A uniformed police officer is a visible representation and face of government and is required to remain extremely disciplined and professional while on duty and off duty,” said NPS in a statement.

The body, directed by Bruno Shioso, also announced that disciplinary action would be initiated against him.

“The Buruburu Police command has taken corrective measures for the situation, and the matter is being handled internally.”
