Three matches were on Saturday played in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League fixtures.

In the early kick off, Ulinzi Stars thrashed Kariobangi Sharks 2-0 to end their unbeaten run in a tight match played in Narok.

The win which ended their four winless streak became their fourth win in the season so far. Their goal keeper James Saruni who was the man of the match ensured their goal was safe helping the team to move up the table to eleventh position.

Striker Masita Masuta gave Ulinzi their first goal just a minute before half an hour mark while Clinton Omondi netted in the second and the winning goal in the 39th minute.

Ulinzi Stars ensured that they get maximum points which added to their tally to 21 in 17 matches. They have won four matches, drew nine and lost four.

On the other hand, the defeat to Sharks marked their fourth loss of the season and they sitvon fourth position on the log with 31 points.

In another match of the day between Kakamega Homeboyz and Western Stima, it was all joy for the host at Bukhungu Stadium when they smatched their rivals 4-0 to claim victory at their own soil.

Homeboyz scored their first three goals out of four within the first 20 minutes of the match. Stephen Opoku scored the first goal in the third minute, while George Odiwour followed suit in the ninth minute. David Okoth entered his name in the score sheet by netting the last goal of the first half in the 14th minute.

Steve Wakanya tapped in an easy goal in the 67th Minute after receiving a fine cross from winger Moses Mudavadi. The superb win gave Homeboyz three important points making it to total to 24 which lifted them to eighth position on the table having played 18 games.

The loss however for Western Stima left them in 15th position with 13 points.

In Ruaraka ground, Posta Rangers frustrated AFC Leopards in 0-0 draw in the last game of the day. The result means that AFC Leopards remains on the the third position for a while with 33 points from 16 matches. They are five points less from the leaders Tusker and one less from KCB.

Rangers won two quick corners in the second and fourth minute but failed to make use of them since Ingwe’s players were alert.

Leopards tried their lack in the 15th minute through Austin Odhiambo from a long range shot but it went off target.

In the 21st minute the mailmen nearly found the back of the net but Leopards keeper Benjamin Ochan stopped Francis Nambute’s shot.

AFC Leopards suffered a loss when Isaac Kipyegon was shown a red card. In a bid to strengthen their defence, they made two changes by bringing in Hanel Ochiueng and Robinson Kamura to replace Bienvenue Shaka and Caleb Olilo.

Ingwe continued pilling pressure on Posta Rangers and as a result managed three corners which never yielded the need.

The league continues on Sunday with two games being played at 3 pm EAT. KCB will welcome Bandari at Utalii ground. Mathare United will try to salvage themselves from winless streak when they visit Nzoia Sugar at Sudi Stadium in the second match.
