Governor Kibwana Commissions the Makueni Mother and Pediatric Theatre Wing
Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has today commissioned the Makueni Mother and Pediatric Theatre wing in Wote Makueni county

In his statement Kivutha said that the facility would ensure that the county offers high quality safe surgery space for children.
“The KSh18M facility established in partnership with Kids Operating Room (KidsOR) and Smile Train will help the county offer high quality safe surgery space for children.” Read the Governor’s statement.
The project was established in a partnership with Kids Operating Room and the smile Train.
Smile train is the world’s largest cleft charity, that empowers local medical professionals to provide free cleft treatment in their own communities. On the other hand, kidsOR is a global health Non-governmental Organization focuses on making safe surgery available to all children.
Makueni County is one of the counties in the country that has experienced great developments especially in the health sector.
The county was the first in the country to implement the universal health care UHC which was branded Makueni Care in 2016.
The Makueni Care program was established with aims to improve access to promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative health services and reduce the population’s high out of pocket expenditure
The governor who will be finishing his two gubernatorial terms in office this August has announced plans to vie for the senatorial position that is currently held by Mutula Kilonzo junior.
