Hong Kong has announced plans to lift bans on flight from nine countries that it had earlier on banned.

In a report that was announced on Monday, Hong Kong announced that it would lift the ban on the nine countries  as from April 1st.

The countries include the United States, Britain, Canada, India, Australia, Pakistan, Philippines, France and Nepal.

The ban by Hong Kong was to ensure that the covid-19 cases shoot down to zero or no cases.

The move was taken after the state started experiencing a slopping curve in the Covid -19 cases. The latest statistics on the 20th of march 2022 show that the state reported 14, 149 new cases which is the lowest statistic to be reported in the recent past.

On the 3rd of march 2022, the state reported 76, 991 new cases  which is the hightest statistic reported recently. 

Also, Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam has also announced that vaccinated Hong Kong residents will be allowed to quarantine for only seven days instead of the fourteen days they have been expected to quarantine.

The Omicron Variant has led to 5,683 deaths in Hong Kong since the variant was reported in January.

In other reports, some researchers estimate that half of the population in the state could been infected by the virus.
