Italy has yet again resolved to impose another lockdown with new restrictions outlined on Monday. This move is aimed at stopping the third wave of infections that is threatening to attack and overwhelm its move to halt the AstraZeneca vaccination program.

Italy began to enter strict regional lockdowns on Monday as the government moved to halt an increase in coronavirus cases just one year after the country became the first in Europe to impose a national lockdown.

Prime Minister Mario Draghi warned the citizens stating that a new wave was evident based on the identification of various infectious variants of the Coronavirus. Other countries are also experiencing the same inclusive of Germany which stated that this week would be the most difficult since the start of the pandemic in terms of allocating beds and breathing machines as well as mobilizing nurses and doctors.

In France, hospitals are their highest occupancy rate prompting the government to consider a third national lockdown.
