Speaking after recording a statement with the DCI, Junet said that the Deputy President should also be questioned on what he knows about the attacks questioning Ruto’s apology after the unfortunate incident to the former Prime Minister.

At the time of the attack, Odinga was attending the burial of his friend and Businessman Jackson Kibor in Uasin Gishu county before rowdy youths attacked their chopper with stones.

"He was apologizing over what? You only apologize for a crime you have committed. What he needs to do as a leader is to denounce the violence," Junet said.

"If he knows something, he should come to the DCI offices and share his statement with them." He added.

At the same time, the legislator is on record saying that he recorded a ten-page document with the DCI on what transpired that day.

"We have shared with the police what we know. We gave a statement of over 10 pages on what happened that day. We hope they will act. This is a serious matter,” Junet said.

After the attack, Junet took his dissatisfaction with the matter to his Twitter handle saying the matter was planned by Ruto’s allies.

Today we almost got killed in soy constituency Uasin Gishu County at the Burial of Mzee Jackson Kibor’s burial. Our chopper was completely destroyed and we had to look for alternative means midair… Congratulations Hon Caleb Kositany” read his Twitter post.

Junet was accompanied to the DCI headquarters by legislators allied to the Azimio flagbearer Raila Odinga.

Speaking at the same event, Suba North Member of Parliament John Mbadi said that the government should look deeper into the matter adding that the issue should not be taken casually.

"What we expect from the government is simple; dig deep into this matter...This matter should not be taken casually, our colleagues almost lost their lives, this is something we cannot accept and this kind of intolerance is coming about because of frustrations," Mbadi said.

Other leaders present were Narok County senator Ledama Olekina, Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir, and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino who was also summoned by the DCI.
