Kenya`s president Elect William Ruto congratulated all sworn-in governors who were resuming office on Thursday 25th August.

In a Twitter post accompanied by different photos seen by this publication, Ruto congratulated all the elected leaders.

" Congratulations to all the governors who assume office today. Your journey to the office is commendable and worthy of recognition".

Ruto also stated that the just concluded election was historic since it had a variety of young leaders.

"The just concluded election has been historic in many ways. We have younger leaders in their numbers. More impressively, Kenyans have more than doubled the number of women governors, ushering in a new era of leadership in our nation." 

He also noted the presence of female governors who had been sworn in across the country.

"I celebrate each woman who has been elected governor in a very special way. Kenyans have trusted you with their aspirations and it is our duty to actualize them. Devolution as the centerpiece of our constitutional dispensation is now approaching its first decade".

Notably, he also appreciated the huge support for Kenyans from their elected leaders.

"Over that period, Kenyans have consistently demonstrated unwavering support. At the same time, we have all witnessed the tremendous uplift of standards in all sectors throughout Kenya as the devolved units strove to bring services close to Kenyans".

The president-elect further urged the leaders to work hard toward achieving Kenyans' goals since they had trusted them.

"Kenyans have trusted you with their aspirations and it is our duty to actualize them". he concluded.
