Deputy President William Ruto has received another boost ahead of the August polls as a former powerful governor has joined his camp United Democratic Alliance (UDA)
The second in command has received former Laikipia county boss Joshua Irungu who is seeking to run for the seat in August for the second time.

This comes as Deputy President William Ruto's presidential bid has been recently receiving a major stimulus as he claims regional top guns for his campaign machine.
The defections have exposed the emerging political dynamics that could force top presidential aspirants back to the drawing board to decide how to stop the DP's momentum.
