What Next For Mount Kenya After The Installation Of Governor Lee Kinyanjui To The 'New Position'?
Political tension furthers in Mount Kenya Region following the installation of governor Lee Kinyanjui as the Nakuru County Luo Elder.
Nakuru Governor, Lee Kinyanjui was on Tuesday, October 5 sworn in as the Nakuru county Luo elder, few days after declaring his support for The Orange Democratic Movement party leader, Raila Odinga.
Governor Kinyanjui and other Mount Kenya governors had committed to support the former Prime Minister in his bid to become the 5th President of Kenya In the 2022 general election.
Speaking on September 28, Governor James Nyoro, Lee Kinyanjui, Nderitu Mureithi, and Francis Kimemia claimed Raila has the right credentials to steer Kenya to prosperity.
The declaration of these governors left many in dilemma concerning the stand of Mount Kenya in the 2022 general election, based on the history of the relationship between the region and the ODM party leader.
Further political tension, however, was witnessed in the reactions evoked by governor Kinyanjui's installation,

The increased tension has been influenced by the announcements by the incumbent Governor Lee Kinyanjui (a supporter of Raila Odinga) and Senator Susan Kihika (a supporter of William Ruto), where the two declared interest in the Nakuru gubernatorial race in 2022.
