Serial killer Masten Wanjala revealed to the villagers on Thursday 14th how he managed to escape from Jogoo road police station barely a day before his appearance at the Makadara law courts.

Wanjala told those lynching him he disguised as a petty offender and handed officers money he had before walking out on Tuesday 13th night.

He then hiked a lift on a lorry to Bungoma where he joined villagers.

However, Wanjala had no idea that the villages did not want him there.

It was until Wednesday morning that officers who were taking over-realized he was missing.

Wanjala, 25, escaped from Jogoo Road police station cells as remandees and others were being separated from the general population.

Earlier before his arrest, he led police to crime scenes, reenacted them, made voice recordings, and showed investigators his scrapbook detailing the murders of 13 innocent minors.

Wanjala confessed to the police that he sometimes opened their veins after strangling his victims, then drank their blood.

Masten was lynched by residents of Muhwea, Bungoma County on Friday 15th, two days after his escape from Jogoo road police station.

The incident was confirmed by area Chief Bonface Ndiera who stated that Wanjala was slain in his own village after being identified by residents playing soccer.
