KANU under the chairmanship of Baringo Senator Gideon has been battling Deputy President William Ruto over control of Kalenjin votes.

However, DP Ruto seems to be edging out the son of the former President, the late Daniel Moi, if the latest events are anything to go by.

On Saturday, a key ally of the DP, Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi, hosted Members of County Assembly from Baringo County, all with one mission – to welcome a new member to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

This new member, according to Sudi was Ernest Kibet, an MCA for Kabarnet ward who won the 2017 general elections vying under the KANU ticket.

In a Facebook post, the vocal MP welcomed Kibet and hailed the role Baringo MCAs have played in pushing the Hustler Nation agenda in the home county of Senator Moi who is trying to battle Ruto in the region.

“Together with Baringo County MCAs, we welcomed KANU MCA Hon. Ernest Kibet (Kabarnet Ward) as he joins us in UDA party,” Sudi posted alongside photos of the MCAs who welcomed the new member.

“I commend the relentless efforts by Baringo County MCAs in driving forward the Hustler Nation agenda. They have proved as reliable foot soldiers on several occasions ranging from shooting down BBI Referendum Bill to overcoming intimidation, threats, and coercion from KANU. Mbele ni kuzuri wenzangu,” he added.

The latest development come just days after another key KANU man in the county, Musa Sirma also joined UDA.
