KCSE Candidate Confesses to Killing A Taxi Driver

According to the police, Mr. Stephen Kimani, the taxi driver,  had agreed to carry the candidate to his upcountry using his taxi and they agreed on Ksh. 30,000 as payment.

Elijah who is seventeen had indicated that he was going to visit a patient at the Kisii Teaching Referral Hospital.

According to the police report, the duo left Nairobi on February 11 for Kisii. On arrival the following morning, Elijah called his friend Maxwell Nyangoya.

Maxwell said that the patient’s relative who was supposed to pay for the taxi was in Kericho town

Stephen agreed to drive them to Kericho town after they promised to add him ksh.15,000 to cater for the extended trip.

According to Elijah, who confessed to the investigators they turned against the driver and stubbed him in the neck and the stomach.

“The scene was visited and the body of the deceased found with a stab wound on the stomach and physical injuries on the chest, back and both hands.” Read part the police report

After carrying out the inhuman activity, they dumped the body at the at Kipraya Village in Kericho County.    

“He confessed to killing Kimani jointly with another suspect. He led the officers to a thicket in Kipranya village where they dumped the body. Officers from Sondu collected the body from the scene. They also recovered Kimani's motor vehicle, registration number KCW 782V," read the police report.

Elijah is believed to have driven the car back to his home where it was later discovered by detectives from the Kiambaa Directorate of Criminal investigations (DCI) office

According to the Directives they trucked down the two using their mobile data.

Both Elijah and Nyangoya will face charges of murder, robbery with violence and kidnapping.

The taxi driver, Stephen Maina, will be buried at his Home in Kiambaa.
