Silas Kimani, the driver of Urban sub-county Police Commander George Kingi Bamba, discovered the Jericho pistol (SN 45303132) behind his Kizingo home property.
According to the police preliminary report, the gun was found while in a green disposable carrier bag on Friday 24th September.

“That morning, Police commander Kingi’s driver was supervising a laborer namely George Some who was cutting grass in his official compound within Kizingo area, when the driver identified as constable Kimani went to his boss with news that he had just found a gun wrapped in a green disposable carrier bag at the back of the house,” Read police report.

Mr. Kingi's home was raided by a multi-agency team, who discovered the handgun loaded with 15 bullets.
The DCI's crime experts have the recovered firearm in their custody for fingerprint dusting and further examination.
Officers are investigating how the stolen pistol ended up at Kingi's house, despite the fact that no one has been detained in connection with the crime.

The firearm was allegedly seized from Kingi on his way home when he was allegedly stopped by armed individuals in a tuk-tuk, according to a report filed earlier this week at the Mombasa central police station.
