“Raila should be Ruto’s Deputy in 2022,” Says Muthama

Former Machakos County Senator Johnson Muthama has proposed that ODM leader Raila Odinga should be Deputy President William Ruto’s running mate come 2022.

“Raila should be Ruto’s Deputy in 2022,” Says Muthama

According to the UDA Chairman Johnson Muthama, DP Ruto has supported former Prime Minister Raila Odinga before, and therefore Raila should not shy away from returning the favor.

Muthama further said it would be prudent for Raila to shelve his presidential ambitions and support Ruto for an easier ride to the statehouse.

"We are ready to work with Raila but only if he will accept to deputize William Ruto," said Muthama.

The former Senator argued that Ruto has done a lot on the ground and he is ahead of his competitors in the presidential race.

"Ruto has positioned himself well to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022. The hustler nation narrative has captured the wishes and aspirations of all citizens and it unstoppable,” Says Muthama.

While commenting on the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) Amendment Bill 2020, Muthama vowed to lead the NO campaigns regardless of what the UDA party decides.

Muthama’s comments on the Ruto-Raila alliance comes barely days after Moses Kuria an MP allied to the Deputy President also said there was a possible alliance between the two.
