Machakos Former Governor Mutua Shares a Message of Gratitude as He Exits
Former Machakos Governor, Alfred Mutua has shared his thankful message to the people of Machakos County as he prepares to welcome new governance into the county.

Taking to his social media accounts, the ex-Machakos governor appreciated the people of Machakos County for giving him an opportunity to serve them as their leader. Mutua also appreciated the trust the people had in him. In the video seen by this publication, Mutua also stated that he was recognized as the best in the 'Best Governor of the year' award in December 2021.
"I thank God for enabling me to be recognized as the best governor in Kenya more so the special recognition given to me by Africa all in the best service of wananchi," Mutua stated.
On December 9, 2021, Lagos, Nigeria hosted the second annual gala for the prestigious Africa Illustrious Awards, during which Mutua received his honor. Government representatives, journalists, and notable figures from throughout the continent all attended the vibrant event. He was also accompanied by Narok Senator, Ledama ole Kina during the event.
The Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader served for two terms as the governor of Machakos County.
Wavinya Ndeti of the Wiper party, who received 226, 609 votes in the just concluded general elections that attracted five contenders, will succeed Mutua. This is the third time Wavinya was contesting after she failed to win the position in 2013 and 2017.
