Magufuli was reported dead, several days after he did not appear publicly, triggering health concerns about the sitting president.

As Tanzania goes into a fortnight period of mourning, huge focus will be on her fallen president John Magufuli's succession.

Close sources have indicated that Vice President Ms. Samia Suluhu is set to complete ex-president Magufuli's reign. 

The entire world is closely monitoring how Ms. Suluhu will be handed over instruments of power, amid power wrangles rumored.

Ms. Suluhu is set to be sworn-in as the new president to complete Magufuli's second term which was to run until 2025.

President Magufuli reportedly lost his battle to heart-related complications, weeks after he disappeared from the public.

The last time Magufuli appeared publicly was on February 27, 2021 after which disappeared from the public radar.

His absence sparked public uproars, with the opposition demanding that citizens be updated on Magufuli's whereabouts and his health status.

Tanzanian executive stood up to defend any claims that President Magufuli was ailing, citing that as rumors spread by his haters.

Following many of silence, the same Tanzanian government has now officially announced that President Magufuli passed away following heart related complications.

Magufuli had just been sworn-in for his second term, following a hotly contested poll that ended up with Magufuli's closest contestant going to exile in Belgium.
